They were old dilapidated dorms. Now those areas that were imploded are occupied by newly built apartments for students. The last building that was imploded is a now a Day Care center.

I was right there! My truck got covered in dust. I didn't know this video existed. Interestingly enough, this happened at almost the precise moment that the space shuttle Columbia exploded. When I got home, our local weatherman was on CNN saying he heard it explode. What he heard was these buildings collapsing. Good times.
