This piece is played on an A Clarinet. It has a darker tone than the Bb and the color just soothes you.
Plus, it's Mozart :P Anything on Mozart played on clarinet is usually good. He loved the clarinet. Hence why our major audition repertoire is the Mozart Concerto.

Really boring. So what if Mozart came from that part of the world. Does not give any one the magic wound; Germans or who ever. The academic world mixes classical music with some kind of degree of stiffness. And yes it has become constipated and thin. Even opera singers sing boring now a days. Well, all that masters not, because my words will change nothing by what I am writing. We live in a world of unstoppable spin. Let them have fun.
