tyson was technical fast and a powerful brawler in his early years - he fired his trainer that was with him from the beginning and that's when he lost his technical prowess

true, even holyfield ...( 2 weeks ago by fadethetrade)
true, even holyfield on an interview posted on youtube,he said he watched tyson since 1984 and said mike had great "technical abilities "back then" as he quoted. And holy knew that mike abandoned those technical abilities or prowness immedietley after firing rooney.I'll bet holy was shitting in his pants in 1988 thinking he has to face this guy who had it all together!!! After 1990,holy got loads of confidence and knew how to beat the post 1990 tyson.

Interestingly, this guy, lennox lewis, only fought 3 guys who were in their prime fighting year and he looked mediocre against them.Rahman,Tua and kletchko.Rahman puts lewis to sleep,Tua survives an easy 12 rounds and kletchko the bleeder makes it very interesting.LEwis was ovverrated by a bunch of overzealous 90's fight fans.

Mike vs Lennox are great, but should've happened in 95..
mike and lennox ...( 2 weeks ago by fadethetrade)
mike and lennox should have happenned in 1992.Lewis ducked everyone from 89 to 93 until a burnt out tyson destroyed ruddock faced lewis in 1993.
Mike stopped ...( 2 weeks ago by fadethetrade)
Mike stopped fighting and training correctly since spinks june 1988 with kevin rooney and the damato camp. That was the best fighter since ali.

Lewis avenged his losses from 2 tomato cans who he should never have lost to.DIdn't prove squat.Holy and tyson were ghosts of what they once were and lewis didnt look too swift beating Tua,who has a similar style of a younger tyson. What did lewis accomplish, honestly The gold medal was his only accomplishment. He ducked tyson ,holy and bowe from 1989 to 1993 when they were much better then they were in the late 90's.

I think his career went south after losing his trainer, he didny respect the other ones, then he went wild.

After ...( 1 week ago by fadethetrade)
Absolutely!
After 1988,He adapted a "peculiar" attempt for the one punch (only a right hand, never lefts at the proper time)style to get his opponent out of there.Once a "crafty" opponent learned how to "step in" to mikes "lunging right hands" ,it was over for mike who didn't have game plan 'B" or "C" .rooney and tyson had those plans all the time.Rooney always had the answer for mike had a fighter tried the bonecrusher shit of holding and breaking mikes rhythm and countering ala buster/holy.
mikes progression ...( 1 week ago by fadethetrade)
mikes progression from 1987 to june 1988 was startling because tucker, holmes biggs and spinks were better then berbick, pinky ,and smith. However, his regression was just as fast AFTER firing rooney and leaving the damato camp and relying on guys like aaron snowel, giachetti and jay bright who was damatos cook for christs sake, to bail him out and get him back to damato trained form of 1988.NEVER COULD HAPPEN.

1988 Tyson had such great head movement he would have slipped so many of the punches Lewis nailed him with in this fight, he couldn't get outta the way of the jab and thats waht killed him.

"You can train for 2 or 3 months but it's what you've been doing for the last year or 2 and alot of tysons loose living caught up on him against douglas and 3 and a half years of jail and inactivity showed against holyfield".

After tyson beat ...( 5 days ago by fadethetrade)
After tyson beat ruddock in that second fight, mike was about ready, physically, to face and BEAT Holy, douglas, bowe and foreman. The problem was the rape thing was on his mind and that would have killed any motivation and focus mike needed.A sad ending to a potentially greatest ever.

this fight happened ...( 3 days ago by mattcole09)
this fight happened way too late in tyson's career...mike would've easily won this fight if it occurred say 5/6 years earlier... my favorite boxer but this fight really shouldnt have happened, mike was past his prime & should have retired & not picked up 3 losses late in his career...lewis dodged him earlier in his career & the rape charge shamefully prolonged this fight.
A guy with serious ...( 2 days ago by fadethetrade)
A guy with serious mental conditions needed a family figure, like the damato camp, to keep his condition "supressed" enough to help him keep focused. The douglas loss showed mike fighting at 30% of his ability. He looked so bad,a light heavyweight could have beaten him that night. The inbalance of mental problems can make wide range of focus on a person. One day ,he could be amazing ,the other day he gets depressed.Tyson was certainly out of it BEFORE the fight when page decked him in training.
I agree with ...( 1 day ago by mulker47)
I agree with fadethetrade. After Tyson went 12 tough rounds with Razor, he was ready for a war with Evander. But going to prison for 3 plus years ruined him. He was never the same again. He was ready in 1991 to beat Evander. His conditioning was prime and he was ferocious. After prison it looked like he lost his fire.
Mike vs Lennox are great, but should've happened in 95..
