Exactly the same here too (I'm your age too!). I always long for the old days. I always thought that I was born in the wrong decade. That's actually quite depressing for me. At least... I'm not alone I guess!

I was born in 1951. I remember in 1963, heqring of a singing group over in England that was allegedly hotter and bigger than even "The Four Seasons"--and I said "NO WAY!" The Four Seasons were the hottest singing group EVER, in 1963. Then The Beatles came over from England--and The Four Seasons were no longer the greatest singing group ever.

I was watching Ed Sullivan when the Beatles came on. Dad said they looked crazy with that long hair- but they were new, funny our generation rebels-things were more innocent then-we grew up with Beatles and we identified with them. Our music. When you look back now they broke many barriers in music and are timeless even today. I never tire of their music. Thanks JPG&R. Long live their music. T&T

Growing up in the 60's was unique. The lowest low was the Kennedy assination and the highest high was The Beatles. I, easily, stuck with the Beatles. They helped the world have fun in times of trouble.

This was going on for whole year in England before we in America ever heard of them. They made a few news reels and there was some talk by some DJs and within the music industry but other than that we never heard of them. Then one day in January 1964 my older sister called me into her room to hear "I wanna hold your hand" wich the radio DJ had promised was coming up next. I remember my jaw dropping at the first sound of those energectic chords being played and have been a Beatles fan ever since.
