He's just an old white man trying to relate to young black people. He sounds silly, but hes trying. And the people there are enjoying Romney's presence. This has nothing to do with racism.
And Mitt Romney isnt being stupid - Colbert was however. The clown wanted to run in only one state on both parties so he "could lose twice."

I'm a liberal democrat but I think this video (however dorky) just shows that he is willing to get out there and at least TRY to relate... I think it's uncomfortable for Republicans (& Mormons) and he should be proud of himself for at least getting out there to talk with folks who aren't exactly like him... so what if it's for "image"... Why is it uncomfortable for Republicans or Mormons? We aren't racist on either side, at least not the majority of us. The Democrats would like you to believe that, but it's definitely not true. BTW Barrack Obama isn't black, he's white & black. His white mother & white grandparents raised him & took great care of him while his own father forsaked him. He's okay looking, to me he looks like a black Alfred E. Newman (Mad magazine guy) but to each his own. He has charism & people fall for that.

After watching this video i'm surprised he did not start singing "mammy lil baby loves shortning bread". Maybe he should have passed out some Al Jolson DVD's. Republicans are so out of touch with minority people it is just sad. I wish Republicans, Mormons, and all people could simply accept people for who they are individually. Some credit can go to him for trying, but not on the way he did it. Mormons and republicans need to start by making up for their racist past, policies and beliefs.
