you can for sure use a regular skateboard, i just think that wider old-school decks give you a better center of balance for downhill.

As long as you keep your board at an angle so that the wheels are still spinning while they're sliding you won't flatspot them. Try to 'pendulum' your slides. =)

we use old-school shaped decks in that video mainly. i ride the sergio yuppie slider deck from gravity skateboards for downhll now.. hard wheels are necessary.. check gravityboard dot com

Thanks for the info! I used to slide on my MAPLE brand skateboard back in 1999 but then I gave it up and after seeing and my friends back in Hawaii sliding I think I'm going to hit up Purple Skunk. If can, can you shoot me some info next time you guys will be bombing so I can check you guys out. I don't know to many people out here in the bay who are into this. Thanks again. Take it easy
