Has anyone else ... ( 5 months ago by 1234sander)
Has anyone else noticed that when Mr. Obama wins the Stock Market drops dramatically. It happened before and when Mrs. Clinton won it went back up. Yesterday, when the news was saying that he was expected to win, the Asian markets were already getting rid of American stocks. Today, the slide continues.
Does this tell you all anything?
I am not being a racist or running, Mr. Obama down - I am only noticing something
If Hilary Clinton ... ( 5 months ago by lunyfrog1)
If Hilary Clinton hd not convinced Democrats in the Senate to not convict Bill Clinto of the charges that he was impeached for, would Al Gore be finishing his third term as Persident of te United States? (Clinton's last three years ad possibley two elected terms). When Hilary helped get Bill off the ipeachmnt hot seat did she not hand the future Presidency over to the Republican Party?
Just a note... some ... ( 5 months ago by FiresideProduction)
Just a note... some viewers are asking about the Republican side. Fireside Production is video blogging on events leading up to the Democratic National Convention here in Denver. That's why we aren't getting into the Republican side at this point. Thanks for all of the comments!

wtf aren't we electing people solely based off popular vote yet?!
Great explanation. ... ( 5 months ago by 6maverick6s)
Great explanation. I finally understand what this 'super delegate' business is about. I think the US is slowly becoming an oligarchy... I want Obama to win, but think Clinton's going to. Republican side, I think McCain's gonna get the nomination.
What about the five ... ( 5 months ago by nesseline)
What about the five basic principles of a democratic vote, first and foremost the principle of a secret vote? Do you really go to a caucus with your neighbours to tell them who you might vote for? And above all, why isn't the principle of the direct vote installed? The U.S. isn't a democracy in so many ways. Sad but true.

It's pretty sad that we vote for someone primarily on popularity and not on what that person can do to benefit our nation for the better.
Definition from my ... ( 5 months ago by sid73090)
Definition from my textbook:
Superdelegate: A National party leader who automatically gets a delegate slot at the Democratic national party convention.
I dont think that superdelegates get a vote, but rather automatically get a convention seat, no matter how the people vote. Is this right or am i missing something? cuz the vid was talking about them getting a vote.
no one votes on the ... ( 5 months ago by chris11023)
no one votes on the issues anymore everyone votes on the candidate because the candidate is supported by oprah or because they're a certain race we need to focus on the issues not on popularity
It makes me sick ... ( 5 months ago by kiasta)
It makes me sick how ignorant people are and not just about that either, about almost everything that goes on in this country. Why else would Bush get voted in twice and the same reason why Granholm was voted twice for the Governor of Michigan. She has done nothing for the State. And Bush got us into a hell of a mess. Our currency is now worth less than Canadian currency. I just hope you guys actually understand the reasons you vote for who you vote for. That is all.
So what if the US ... ( 5 months ago by conmanjoe)
So what if the US currency is worth less than the canadian currency? In many instances having a currency at an inflated value can have heavy repercussions. Exports from your country will decrease because it costs too purchase.

Great post! Good, concise info on a confusing subject, really well produced. Keep up the good work.
Go to a caucus? Hey ... ( 5 months ago by painim)
Go to a caucus? Hey, why not, your community members probably have guns and it might turn out fun! :D US: plutocratic, populistic republic...mixed with some democracy. For anyone that misunderstands me: I don't mean the US is a dumpsite, but rather, that there are serious infrastructural problems with its "democracy".
Didn't it say, you ... ( 5 months ago by nesseline)
Didn't it say, you could go to a caucus with your neghbours, I looked up the word (The word caucus originated in Boston in the early part of the 18th century, when it was used as the name of a political club, the Caucus, or Caucus Club. The club hosted public discussions and the election of candidates for public office.)...but I might not have grasped its whole meaning. Greetings from Germany! :)
What is the ... ( 5 months ago by wvmountainman299)
What is the difference between the Popular Vote, the Electoral College, and the Supreme Court setting aside election results and putting the man they want into the White House? Well, this happened in 2000. The popular vote had Gore as winner, but Florida had a purposeful brain fart. The electors had spoken; Gore, but the Supreme Court put their pal, H.W's illiterate son into the White House, ensuring America would be ground into the ground.

Thanks for the information - just one remark - Who cares! - Why not just have corporate America Bid on them with the money going to the winner. That said really nice Video
Array ( 5 months ago by kahnicles)
nice one 217 :)
this video's good but still doesn't really answer the question of how someone can win more votes, but the other party get's more delegates. unless that only happnes witht he duper delegates taken into account. if there's 10 delegates (excluding supers) and obama gets 70% of the votes, does that
mean he gets 7 delegates?

Most party ... ( 4 months ago by Piscivorus)
Most party deligates are retarded dumbasses. Proposition 198 was fair but it was struck down by the Supreme Court because they claimed it violated a parties right to "freedom of association" which is a legal concept derived from farfetched interpretations of the first amendment. It's like the right to privacy for private clubs. Can you smell the BS? These candidates are running for public office, not their party's offices. Open primaries should be Constitutionally mandated.

Yes I now believe that sex should not be a factor, she stuck in there for a long time and I respect her for that. However unfortunately we now are stuck with either Obama or McCain.
