Is your friend geting help? That's so awful, how one comment can cause someone their life. Nobody realy noticed when my friend's anorexia began; she was v good at hiding it. Bt that was 3 years ago and now it's hard not to notice cos she looks sick all the time. I don't think she's bulimic, but she doesn't seem to be getting any better even when she's in recovery. tell her parents your worried about her advise her to seek help... if she needs it she may have to go to hospital to b forced to eat...my friend is now startin to eat and tht 1 comment could lose sum1 there life... if u need help add me on msn .... i have added it to your meesages (private)

gtownley15 - your friend cant accept what others say. thats part of the illness. just be there for her. do things she enjoys. try your hardest not to tell her and say she needs to put on weight.
listen to her, find out the underlying problems. she may not want to tell you but over time prove to her how faithfull you are. she needs to feel accepted atm, she needs to feel loved. be strong for her

Another thing I have noticed is that it seems they become attached to the identity of 'anorexic girl'.
It is like self mutilation, they are punishing themselves. Also pushing their bodies and mind to the limit.
They get caught up in the downward spiral. They get a thrill from their secret. They take pleasure in their self pity. They want to test life, see how far they can push towards the wreck. See if life will push back. They get morbid enjoyment out of their sorry state.
