December 7, 2007 - Fox Studios, Los Angeles California. When Joss Whedon put out the call to Mutant Enemy fans to join him on the WGA Strike line at Fox Studios, 400 enthusiasts trekked from as far away as Australia and England to show their support for their favorite writers, many of them flying in for the day so they could walk the line. Many members of the Screen Actors Guild were also in attendance, including Nathan Fillion, Alan Tudyk, Summer Glau, Ron Glass, Juliet Landau, and a host of others. 'First March' looks at the events of the day, and a few of the basic issues that brought the WGA to strike. Shot and edited by Tony Teofilo.

Grr Argh indeed! Great video, thank you very much for this. It warms my heart to see all of Whedon-verse - writers, actors, fans - coming together in such a cooperative way. It bums me out that things aren't going so hot, but with such heart behind the movement, I know something good has to come of it.

It's all a big freaking party for you writers meanwhile the working crews are screwed by your strike. We don't have $100K in our saving account or stocks to trade in. You are creating real financial hardship and partying like it's all a big joke. They roll back IATSE rates and you want more?? You and the producers are like watching two fat kids fight over a steak dinner in the Sudan.

Striking is not a party. It's boring, physically-exausting, unpleasant work. If folks want to have a sense of humor about it, I say more power to them. Most writers don't make much money. This strike is about getting fair compensation for creative people.
