the guitar is playing a kind of music from the northeast part of Brasil, it's called "Repente", the harmonica is playing blues, i guess that the lyrics are made in the "repente" way, it's all improvising, the lyrics and the guitar part, just like the blues, but with different accents and scales

Actully the guitarest was Tommy Johnson and he also had the rumor of selling his soul to the Devil so he was mistaken for RJ and yea it's a good movie and he does introduce himself as Tommy Johnson

His playings and guitar skills were really good even for nowadays. You can not easily find somebody playing like this today (but for sure you will find a lot of long-haired shredding guys playing like fool puppets).

and yeah, he is totaly revolutionary. He wrote the rock and roll bible in 29 short chapters, and he is still the inspiration source for many musicians (and it is not an easy thing to do). So, even if you dont like him, you must respect him. sorry for the bad english.
