A fabulous audience recording of the 1976 tour "Louder than Concorde" at Madison Square Garden. It was taken in august 1976. You can also see Ray Cooper, Davey Johnstone and the other members of the Elton John band at that time. Not the best quality but very rare.

WOW! Sir Elton John ... ( 11 months ago by Victor1970s)
WOW! Sir Elton John at his rock and roll peak in July 1976 at Madison Square Garden. During the 1970s, EJ could do no wrong either in concert or on the Billboard Hot 100. He was the #1 rock and roll performer at this time, and sold more records then any other artist/group during that 10 year period:1970-1979.

Listen to the crowd ... ( 10 months ago by olarcial)
Listen to the crowd shouting madly. That was really it. Elton John was just fantastic at the time. He put the audience in delirium. Saturday Night's Allright is a master piece and the best performances of it happened in the early 1970's in Madison Square Garden. 1973 was even better. I wish I was there too. That was really something.

He started taking cocaine in 1975 and continued until 1992 when he went into rehab. It was in 1975 when he tried to kill himself, after the pressure of stardom and the drugs had taken hold.
